This week we're exploring the Route 65, which is SEPTA’s 27th busiest bus route. This route travels from the 69th Street Transportation Center to Germantown & Chelten Avenues in the Northwest Section of Philadelphia via City Avenue. On a typical weekday, the Route 65 carries 8,311 passengers and travels 1,673 miles.
On weekdays, the Route 65 runs from 4:30AM until 1:30AM. On weekends, buses begin running on Route 65 at 5:00AM. The Route 65 makes it easy to get to Center City with connections to other routes at 69th Street Transportation Center and Wissahickon Transportation Center.
The Route 65 also connects with Overbook, Bala and Tulpehocken stations on SEPTA Regional Rail. These transfers also make it easy for students at Saint Joseph's University and PCOM, as the Route 65 drives right by campus.
The Route 65 has been around for awhile, however, it didn't always go by the same name. Prior to being called the Route 65, it was referred to as Route E.
Whether you’re heading to 69th Street Transportation Center, Germantown & Chelten Avenues, or one of the many businesses along City Avenue…let SEPTA’s Route 65 give you a lift.
