Route of the Week - 115

January 30, 2017

This week we’ll be taking a ride on SEPTA’s Route 15. The Route 15 is a SEPTA Suburban Bus Route that travels between Delaware Community College and the Airport. The Route 15 is a long route, covering 24.7 miles on each one way trip. On a typical weekday, the Route 15 carries 1,127 passengers between 4:00am and 1:00am. The Route 15 makes 46 trips each weekday and 39 trips on weekends.

The Route 15 serves Delaware County Community College’s Southeast Center and Main Campus, making it a convenient route for the college’s students, employees, and faculty. The Route 15 is also one of three SEPTA Bus Routes that services Philadelphia International Airport. The Route 15 stops at all PHL Terminals, making it a great route to hop on for those living in the Delaware County area that work at the airport or need to catch a flight. Another major stop for the Route 15 is SEPTA’s Darby Transportation Center. Here, riders can connect with Trolley Routes 11 and 13 as well as Bus Routes 113 and 114.

The Route 115 was formerly Red Arrow’s “Route H,” operated by Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company. On June 16, 1975, the Route H was redesignated as Route 83. Then, on June 30, 1986, the Route 83 merged with two other Red Arrow Routes to become the Route 115 we know and love today. Service to the airport began in 2009 after a merger with the now retired Route 305.

Whether you’re staying local in the Delaware County area, or you need to get the Philadelphia International to catch a flight, hop the Route 115 and let SEPTA do the driving!
