Route of the Week - 19

This week we’ll be taking a closer look at SEPTA’s Route 19! The Route 19 is a City Division Bus Route that operates in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. This route runs between Torresdale Station and Frankford Transportation Center. At Torresdale, the Route 19 connects with Trenton Regional Rail Line. At Frankford T.C., it connects with the Market-Frankford Line, along with 17 other bus routes.

The Route 19 was known as the Krewstown Branch of Red Arrow Route "W" until June 17, 1985. Red Arrow routes were operated by PTC (Pennsylvania Transportation Company), until SEPTA acquired the company in 1984.

On a typical weekday, the Route 19 travels 1,364 miles and carries 1,854 passengers. This route runs morning to night on weekdays and Saturdays, but it takes the day off on Sundays. Between bus, rail, or subway, there are many different SEPTA connects along this 12.4 mile route. The Route 19 also serves shopping destinations such as Krewstown Plaza, Whitman Square, and Grant Plaza
