Route of the Week - 88

October 2, 2017

This week, we’re shining a spotlight on the Route 88! The Route 88 is a SEPTA Bus Route that travels between Frankford Transportation Center and Bethayres Station. This route serves the Northeast section of Philadelphia, including the neighborhood's favorite green space, Pennypack Park.

On a typical weekday, the Route 88 carries 1,932 riders and makes 104 total trips. Each trip on the Route 88 is 12.4 miles, totaling about 1,290 miles each day.

The Route 88 connects 16 separate bus routes at Frankford Transportation Center. Besides being the depot and terminus for many bus routes, Frankford T.C. is the eastern terminus of the Market-Frankford Line. On the other end of its route, the Route 88 connects to the West Trenton Line at Bethayres Station.

For those looking to escape the city and enjoy the outdoors, the Route 88 is your solution! The Route 88 can get you from Frankford Transportation Center to the hiking, biking, fishing, and more that Pennpack Park has to offer. The Route 88 can also take you to the many recreation fields nearby, including Ramp Playground, where you can watch the Unity Cup knockout round this weekend!

Whether you’re connecting to another mode or getting some fresh air at Pennpack Park, hop the Route 88 and let SEPTA be your ride!
