SEPTA’s 9th Annual “Stop Hunger at Your Station” Food Drive

June 6, 2017

SEPTA’s ninth annual “Stop Hunger at Your Station” food drive to benefit Philabundance and its member agencies will be held June 12-23, 2017. SEPTA and Philabundance will kick off the food drive with a press conference at 10a today, June 6, 2017, at Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center, 3616 South Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148. SEPTA employees will also spend time volunteering at the Hunger Relief Center on Tuesday, sorting and packing supplemental and emergency food items for those in need.

In 2016, SEPTA customers and employees contributed the equivalent of 33,500 meals for Philabundance and its member agencies. Since 2009, SEPTA customers and employees have donated approximately 139,000 pounds of food and $62,000 — that’s more than 264,000 meals — to Philabundance. During the two week food drive, SEPTA customers can drop off donations of much needed canned goods in red barrels at 43 SEPTA stations and transportation centers.
