STOP HUNGER AT YOUR STATION

Did you know the number of people facing hunger in the Delaware Valley is 750,000?

The Delaware Valley is one of the hardest hit areas nationwide, with our children paying the price:

  • About 27% percent of Philadelphians live below the poverty line

  • One in every three children live in poverty

This crisis is happening in our urban centers, our outlying rural communities, and our own backyards. The end of the academic year means hundreds of thousands of local children will no longer receive the free and reduced-cost meals they are given at school.

From Monday, 6/12 through Friday, 6/23, SEPTA is teaming up with Philabundance for the STOP HUNGER AT YOUR STATION annual food drive campaign. Your generous contribution of food items, collected at designated SEPTA stations will help thousands of people - young and old - through Philabundance supported programs and agencies. Please lend your support by bringing these most needed food resources to one of the stations listed below:

  • Canned or [plastic] jarred proteins, including peanut butter, stews, beans, and chili

  • Canned meats and fish, such as tuna and salmon

  • Canned fruits and vegetables

  • Breakfast (hot and cold cereals and oatmeal)

  • Pasta

  • Rice

  • Jelly [plastic jars only]

  • Macaroni and cheese

You may also make a donation to Philabundance online to help feed neighbors in need. Or Text "Food" to 41010 to donate $10.
