May 7, 2018

This week, we're checking out the Route 18! This route is a SEPTA City Bus Route that travels between Fox Chase in Northeast Philly and Cedarbrook Plaza in Wyncote. On a typical weekday, it makes 249 trips and carries 17,760 passengers. That makes it SEPTA's busiest bus route! Service on the Route 18 was introduced on August 8, 1926. Formerly known as the Route S, it was renamed the Route 18 on June 16, 1985. That same day, service was extended to Fox Chase, replacing Route 26 service. On June 18, 1895, service was extended to Cedarbrook Plaza.

The Route 18 connects with Bus Routes 6, 8, 18, 22, 26, 55, 80, L, and the Broad Street Line at Olney Transportation Center. It also connects with the Fox Chase Line and Bus Routes 24 and 28 at Fox Chase Station.
