Bike To Work Day

May 15, 2017

Get your bicycles ready! This Friday, 5/19, is Philadelphia's 22nd Bike to Work Day. Hosted by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, this annual event encourages commuters to switch up their normal routine and hop on their bikes to get to work.  On Friday morning from 7:30a to 9:30a, the Bicycle Coalition will host several Energizer Stations around the city, offering free coffee, snacks, and refreshments to keep the bikers going.

SEPTA will be joining the University of Pennsylvania, Ride Indego, and more at the Penn Museum Energizer Station. Stop by our table for information about the SEPTA Travel Center @Penn, exciting new giveaways, and any questions you may have about bringing your bike on SEPTA. We will also have someone on hand who can speak to SEPTA’s Cycle-Transit Plan.

Penn Transit will have a bus on display at the Energizer Station, allowing riders to see how easy it is to attach their bike to a bus. Penn Transit buses have the same bike rack as SEPTA buses, so once you’ve mastered this one you’ve mastered them all!

Visitors will also be able to register for a “bike-to-work” reimbursement program through UPenn, enter a raffle to win a new bike from the Bicycle Coalition, take a pic in the photo booth, or visit the bike repair station.

Once you've gotten through the work day, bike [or take SEPTA] over to Yards Brewery for a Happy Hour Celebration hosted by the Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia. Here, they will announce the winner of a free bicycle for one lucky Bike To Work Day registrant! Take the pledge to Bike to Work and register here.

Happy riding!
