Super Bowl Wager Benefits Project HOME’s Hub of Hope

February 15, 2018

The Philadelphia region continues to reap the rewards of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII win. Thanks to the Eagles’ big win in Super Bowl LII, Project HOME’s Hub of Hope has received a contribution from international engineering company WSP. On Friday, 2/16, representatives from WSP’s Philadelphia office will visit the Hub of Hope to present a check from both the engineering firm’s Philadelphia and the Boston offices.

Prior to the big game, WSP’s Philadelphia and Boston offices made a wager on the outcome, with each office pledging a donation to the other’s charity of choice. With the Eagles being the victors, WSP’s Philadelphia office will present a check for $600 on behalf of their Boston colleagues to Hub of Hope staff. SEPTA General Manager, Jeff Knueppel, will be on hand to oversee the exchange.

WSP is a globally-recognized professional services firm employing approximately 36,000 people. Project HOME, the City of Philadelphia and SEPTA recently celebrated the opening of the new Hub of Hope in the Center City sub-concourse.  The 11,000-square-foot facility is operated by Project HOME and provides a gateway to vital services and care for Philadelphia’s homeless. It  is a first-of-its-kind engagement center for homeless created via a partnership with a social services agency, a transportation authority and a municipality.
