2018 Minority Enterprise Development Week Event

On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Cheyney University Diverse Business Supportive Services Center, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and SEPTA Procurement, Supply Chain and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Division is hosting a business event promoting effective relationship building, mentoring and networking amongst the small and diverse business community. The event will feature 2 sessions - both held at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), 1234 Market Street, 3rd Floor Auditorium, Philadelphia, PA 19107-3780.

Session 1 – Lunch and Learn: Spotlight on Growth & Successful Relationship Building - 12:00p to 2:00p

This session, presented by the SEPTA DBE Program Office, will feature a moderated Lunch and Learn discussion with Synterra Ltd., a seasoned DBE firm that has provided landscape architecture, construction/project management, development planning, environmental analysis,urban design, and other consulting services domestically and internationally since 1973.

Session 2 – Mentoring Series Part 1: How to Successfully Contract with City, State and Federal Agencies - 2:00p to 4:00p

Session 2 will be a panel discussion presented by Cheyney University’s DB Supportive Services Center and PA Turnpike Commission. The event will feature a panel of successful diverse firms who have earned over $1 million in government contracts. They will share best practices & tips on how to secure contracts with city, state and federal agencies.
