The 55th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival

August 3, 2016

Make a SEPTA to Uber Connection

The 55th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival is back! From Thursday, 8/18 thru Sunday, 8/21, an 80-acre working farm just outside Philadelphia will be transformed into an incredibly colorful music park thanks to the Philadelphia Folksong Society. The Festival is the longest continuously running outdoor music festival in North America, with a crowd spanning four generations coming from diverse backgrounds and featuring incredible live music from both folk superstars and rising stars.

Purchase your tickets now and start thinking if you're going to attend just one night or stay for the entire four day weekend. There are various ticket options such as reserved seating, one day, or full festival. The campground offers tent, RV, and quiet family areas along with showers, secure instrument check, wi-fi, and even a general store! They make the stay comfortable with these amenities but you may be more comfortable at an impromptu jam session at your tent-neighbors campfire!

Don't worry about being bored at any point during the festival, as there are plenty of activities for you to do and things to see (along with a live music coming from at least 1 of the 8 stages)! Many festival goers themselves bring art or their own mini performances whether it be dance, paint, or song. You can even take part in some festival yoga lead by Yogi Gina Molinari.

So - here's where we come in. There is extremely limited parking at the venue and passes sell out fast. Getting there on SEPTA is easy when you make a SEPTA to Uber connection. The festival takes place just northwest of Lansdale Station on the Lansdale-Doylestown Regional Rail Line. Request an Uber from Lansdale Station and enjoy 40% off your ride (up to $10) to the festival! Same deal for the ride back!
