Route 135 - It's Official

SEPTA began operating Route 135, formerly Krapf Route A, in August 2021. The route operates between West Chester and Coatesville via Exton Square Mall. And marks an expansion of SEPTA’s service area within Chester County.

SEPTA evaluated service after one year of operating Route 135. The route launched with an average of 368 riders per weekday - increasing to 564 riders per weekday when service was evaluated in September 2022. This jump in ridership and ridership patterns indicate a need for additional weekday and Sunday service.

SEPTA is pleased to invest additional service hours into the Route 135 corridor, which is proven to be a strong transit market in Chester County.

The SEPTA Bus Revolution proposes additional service investments in the Route 135 corridor - improving peak frequencies and span of service throughout the week.

SEPTA has worked to build partnerships with local retailers to sell SEPTA Key cards. SEPTA Key cards can be purchased or value added at the following locations in Coatesville:

• West Chester University, 110 W Rosedale Avenue, West Chester

Since start of service, SEPTA has launched SEPTA Key Tix - a mobile ticketing platform that makes it easy to purchase SEPTA fares on their smart phones using a credit card. SEPTA Key Tix does not replace SEPTA Key cards, but instead provides a simple solution for occasional, or regular, riders without a SEPTA Key card to enjoy the same benefits as cardholders - including a $2 fare and one free transfer per transit trip. Available in the official SEPTA App - SEPTA Key Tix is a new and convenient way to pay using your smartphone!
