New SEPTA Transit Schedules Effective February 27-28

February 16, 2022

We will adjust some Bus and Market-Frankford Line schedules to reflect ridership trends, improve service reliability and prepare for more customers this Spring.

The changes are part of the annual Spring Transit Schedules that go into effect on Sunday, February 27 and Monday, February 28, 2022.

Transit modes include Buses, Subways, City & Suburban Trolleys and the Market-Frankford, Broad Street and Norristown High Speed Lines. There are no changes to Regional Rail with these new timetables.

The Spring Transit Schedules are aimed at enhancing the service that is currently available and factor in ongoing challenges such as COVID-related staffing shortages. SEPTA will not eliminate any Routes or Lines, however, adjustments will be made to service frequencies based on ridership. These schedule changes will allow us to provide more predictable and reliable service while preparing for growth in the months ahead.

Slight frequency reductions will be made on Routes 2, 6, 19, 20, 24, 29, 33, 45, 46, 52, 53, 57, 79, 88, 124, 125 and L. Some of those resources will be shifted to other routes, including Routes G and 70, which have seen higher demand. This also gives SEPTA more flexibility to cover runs in response to increased ridership and operator availability.

Similarly, to rebalance service throughout the day on the Market-Frankford Line, service frequency during the traditional morning and afternoon rush hours will change to reflect six minutes headways Monday-Friday 6a-6p. There are no changes to Broad Street and Norristown High Speed Line timetables under this schedule change.
