The 2019 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, “Flower Power,” is an expansive tribute to the impact of flowers on our lives. Receiving flowers, whether they are sent from another person or you bought them for yourself, can give you an immediate mood boost. Did you know keeping plants in indoor spaces may help with concentration and memory? Plants oxygenate the air, boosting your brain cells and making you feel more like your best self. And there is a reason so many stressed-out people turn to gardening to combat the blues - not only is the experience of growing things cathartic, but floral scents can do a lot to lower stress.
This got us thinking about the impact public transportation has on our lives. Whether you ride public transportation or reside in areas served by public transportation, you are impacted by public transportation. For example, new or planned public transportation projects drive up nearby property values and rents, according to Realtor.com. Public transportation impacts the environment by lowering traffic congestion, which in turn reduces air pollution and helps riders avoid the stress that comes from daily commuting. And it impacts the economy - every $1 invested in public transportation generates approximately $4 in economic returns.
Enter to win an April Anywhere TrailPass by naming one other way public transportation - namely SEPTA - impacts the region and/or you. Eleven (11) entries will be selected for prizes.
