National Farmers Market Week

August 2, 2024

It is National Farmers Market Week NOW thru August 10 and this is the perfect time to highlight how public transit plays a vital role in connecting our communities to fresh and local produce. At SEPTA - we are proud to support local farmers markets and make them accessible to everyone in our region.

Farmers markets are more than just a place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. They are a hub for community engagement, support local economies, and promote healthy eating. However - access to these markets can be challenging for those without reliable transportation. That's where SEPTA comes in!

SEPTA's extensive network of buses, trolleys, and trains ensures that everyone in our community can enjoy the benefits of local farmers markets. Here are a few markets conveniently located near SEPTA services:

Headhouse Farmers Market

On Sundays stop by the Headhouse Farmers Market from 10AM - 2PM. The Food Trust farmers market offers fresh produce, baked goods, local meats, cheeses and wines. Hop Route 12, 40, 47, or 57.

Frankford Transportation Center Farmers Market

Another farmers market apart of The Food Trust that is open every Tuesday from 2PM - 6PM. Hop the Market-Frankford Line to Frankford Transportation Center or Routes 3, 5, 8, 14, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 50, 58, 66, 73, 84, and 88 to get there!

Christ Church Farmers Market

Find fresh locally grown produce and more at the Christ Church Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 3PM - 6PM. Hop the Market-Frankford Line to 2nd Street or Routes 5, 17, 44, or 57.

Narberth Farmers Market

On Thursdays from 3PM –7PM - stop by the Narberth Farmers Market for fresh produce, baked goods, and more! This market is right next to the outbound platform at Narberth Station on the Paoli/Thorndale Line! You can also hop Route 44 to get there.

Bryn Mawr Farmers Market

One of the biggest farmers markets in Montgomery County - open every Saturday from 10AM-1PM. This Farm to City farmers market is conveniently located at Bryn Mawr Station! Hop the Paoli/Thorndale Line to get there! You can also hop Route 44 to get there.

Pretzel Park Farmers Market

Head to the Pretzel Park Farmers Market every Saturday from 10AM - 2PM! Take the Manayunk/Norristown Line to Manayunk Station or take Routes 9, 61, or 27.

Collingswood Farmers Market

On Saturdays stop by the Collingswood Farmers Market from 8AM - 12PM for fresh produce, baked goods, local meats, cheeses and wines. Hop the Market-Frankford Line to 8th & Market to connect to PATCO or the Broad Street Line to Walnut-Locust for the PATCO stop at 15th & Locust. Tunnels connect the systems underground just follow the signs. Ride PATCO to the Collingswood Station to get there!

Swarthmore Farmers Market

Connecting farmers and consumers since 2006. Open Saturdays from 9AM - 12PM from May thru November in the Town Center Parking Lot - located steps from Swarthmore Station. You can also hop Route 109 to get there.

Malvern Farmers Market

On Saturdays from 9AM – 1PM the Malvern Farmers Market is open for fresh produce, baked goods, local meats, cheeses and more! This market is only a few blocks from Malvern Station on the Paoli/Thorndale Line! You can also hop Route 92 to get there.

Ambler Farmers Market

Head over to Ambler for the Farmers Market! Ambler Farmers Market is a Farm to City farmers market that is open every Saturday thru November. Customers can shop a wide variety of produce from 9AM - 1PM. To get here on SEPTA - ride the Lansdale/Doylestown Line to Ambler Station or hop Routes 94 or 95.

Glenside Farmers Market

On Saturdays from 9AM – 1PM, stop by the Glenside Farmers Market for fresh produce, baked goods, and more! This market is directly at Glenside Station on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Warminster Lines! You can also hop Routes Routes 22 or 77 to get there.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of SEPTA’s services to visit a farmers market this National Farmers Market Week. By supporting local farmers and enjoying fresh, seasonal produce, we can all contribute to a healthier - more vibrant community.
