How to get there

The Route 38 drops you at the front door! Bus Routes 7, 32, 43, 48 & 49 also serve the Museum area. Click PLAN YOUR TRIP to discover your best way there.

Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00a–5p; Wednesday & Friday open until 8:45p; Closed Monday except some holidays*

Connecting Services

The Philly PHLASH also serves the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Philly PHLASH, stopping at major locations around Philadelphia, is FREE with your SEPTA Key or Pass.

Things To Do

Access for 2 consecutive days to Museum’s main building, Perelman Building, Rodin Museum, and historic house Cedar Grove (April–December). Mount Pleasant closed for maintenance.

Pay What You Wish AdmissionFirst Sunday of the month 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and every Wednesday 5:00–8:45 p.m.What does Pay What You Wish mean? We suggest you start at a penny but support us with whatever amount you wish.

 

Free Admission for Local Art StudentsArt and design students attending these colleges and universities receive free general admission with valid school ID.

Does not include ticketed exhibitions. Redeemable on-site only.

Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center

For more than 200 years, the Fairmount Water Works has told the story of Philly's connection with water. The POOL exhibition weaves together history, art, storytelling, and place-based learning, exploring the role of public pools in our communities with the goal of deepening understanding of the connection between water, social justice, and public health. This is the last opportunity to experience the immersive museum exhibition in person in Philadelphia. Visit on 9/21 between 11AM and 5PM for free admission!
