Chinatown

Stretching from Arch Street to Vine Street, and from 11th street to 8th Street, Chinatown is packed end-to-end with restaurants and stores that represent Hong Kong, Cantonese, Fujianese, Northern Sichuan and Taiwanese cultures, with a sprinkling of Korean, Thai, Malaysian, Burmese, and Vietnamese. Beyond the iconic Chinatown Friendship Gate, visitors can look forward to delicious food from acclaimed restaurants and street vendors, fabulous shops, seasonal street festivals, and more.

How to get there

Chinatown is a short walk from Jefferson Station (Regional Rail), 8th Street and 11th Street Stations (Market-Frankford Line), Chinatown and 8th Street Stations (Broad-Ridge Spur) and City Hall (Broad Street Line). Multiple Bus Routes also serve Chinatown.

Films to look forward to this week include Martin Scorsese's The Irishman (Tuesday), The Report starring Adam Driver (Wednesday) and local auteur Chinonye Chukwu's Clemency, the winner of the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Sundance Film Festival (Sunday). The festival wraps up on Sunday with the whodunit Knives Out from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and a closing-night party at SugarHouse Casino.
