Delaware River Waterfront

From parks and museums to piers and restaurants, there are so many of attractions and events all year long at the Delaware River Waterfront.

Located just a short walk from Old City, Society Hill, and Philadelphia’s Historic District, the waterfront has tons to offer, including one of the coolest pop-up parks in the city (Spruce Street Harbor Park), some of the best outdoor venues for concerts, festivals, and more as well as amazing views of Benjamin Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River.

During the Winter months - it's home to the Blue Cross RiverRink, a heated lodge that has all sorts of food and drink options, an arcade, and lots more!  The park is open seven days a week, including holidays!

How to get there

SEPTA Bus Routes 21, 33, and 42 stop at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing and Blue Cross RiverRink at the Chestnut Street turnaround. Routes 17 and 48 stop at Front and Market Streets. Route 12 stops directly at Spruce Street Harbor Park Presented by Univest/Valley Green Bank at Columbus Blvd and Dock Street. Route 25 runs along Columbus Blvd.

You can also take the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line (the Blue Line) to the 2nd Street stop. From there, head east over the Market Street Bridge. The Blue Cross RiverRink and Great Plaza at Penn's Landing will be straight ahead.

Things To Do

No matter the season - there’s always something to do on the Delaware River Waterfront.

Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent

Museum of the American Revolution

The Museum of the American Revolution celebrates the often-unsung women of American history with a slate of special programming, including pop-up art-making activities and screenings of theatrical performances telling the life stories of women like Elizabeth Freeman, an enslaved woman who sued for her freedom (and won) and Rebecca VanDike, one of the earliest women to ever vote in America. Don’t miss the museum’s newest exhibit Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent, which highlights the stories of several women who helped to shepherd the revolutionary relic through history, including George Washington’s wife Martha and her great-granddaughter and Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s wife, Mary Curtis Lee. Get there on SEPTA. Short walk from Jefferson Station or ride SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line to 5th Street/Independence Hall Station. Bus Routes 5, 9, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 44, 48, 57, and 121 also stop near the museum. Get $2 off admission when you flash your SEPTA Key card!
