Kids Ride Free to the Zoo!

March 25, 2021

With Spring upon us and Summer not far behind – we’re probably all ready to get outside and stretch our legs – especially if you have a little one. And now – that’s easier [and less expensive!] than ever! Last summer – SEPTA announced that children 11 and under ride free when accompanied by an adult. That – along with free transfers and the better weather – make a daytime trip in the coming weeks a must-do.

Beginning 3/29 – check out the Philadelphia Zoo’s newest exhibit BIG TIME. Travel back in time 66 million years ago and journey to an age when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Walk among 24 realistic, life-size, animatronic creatures, including the 98-foot-long, Alamosaurus and the 15-foot-tall T-Rex. Learn ways to turn the tide for endangered animals including iconic species like the African elephant and polar bear who are facing threatened habitats and extreme weather events. Enact change to ensure a future where we can all thrive and live together on our incredible planet.

To get there – just hop the Route 38 or Trolley Line 15 - [note - buses are running instead of trolleys]. Now that kids ride free, a family of four pay just $8 roundtrip, instead of $16 (or more with transfers)!

And don’t forget – riding the bus, trolley and/or subway is 10X safer than driving. Regional Rail is 18X safer!

And when you ride - remember to keep your mask 😷 over your mouth and nose and stay socially distanced!

Plan your trip today.
